The Abbot Emeritus of Loccum has died
August 8, 2023

On 8 August 2023, the Bishop and Abbot Emeritus of Loccum D. Horst Hirschler, of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church, returned to the Father's House. He was a great friend of the Cistercian Order and one of the founders of the Association of Evangelical Communities of Cistercian Heritage (Gemeinschaft der Evangelischen Zisterziensererben). On several occasions, he was a fraternal and welcome guest of the General Chapter of our Order. May the fellowship in Christ that he sowed be his reward in Heaven!
