Father Francis appointed Dom Octavi as Bishop of Girona, in Catalonia.

Today, 29 February 2024, the Holy Father Francis appointed Dom Octavi Vilà Mayo, Abbot of Santa Maria de Poblet, as Bishop of Girona, in Catalonia.
His community, the Cistercian Congregation of the Crown of Aragon and the entire Cistercian Order are grateful to Dom Octavi for his paternal work throughout his service as Abbot, and pray that the Lord, having called him to monastic life, may now accompany him in his new mission at the service of the Church of Girona. May God bless him always!
